Association of Carers

Association of Carers supports unpaid Carers in East Sussex, by providing free, volunteer-led services that encourage independence and reduce isolation.
These services are:
-Respite and Befriending Service enables the Carer to take a three hour break each week while a volunteer spends quality time with the person they look after, we are able to offer carers extra respite so that they can attend their own healthcare appointments and the Association also provides Carers with a companion service.
-Telephone Support Service provides Carers with a regular phone call from a trained volunteer, enabling them to have an open and honest conversation with someone they know, understands their situation, we can also refer Carers for telephone counselling.
-Computer Help at Home provides the Carer with a volunteer who visits them at home, for two hours a week, for up to six weeks, to help them learn how to use their computer to shop or bank on line, keep in touch with family and friends etc.
