Adult Literacy Referrals Networker
Read Easy is a national charity which provides a volunteer-led one-to-one confidential reading coaching programme for adults. There are separate local groups, with the one in East Sussex serving Rye, Battle, Hastings, St Leonards, Bexhill, Eastbourne and surrounding areas.
Helping adults learn to read is rewarding and inspiring for all our volunteers whose work can transform the life of the reluctant reader. We have volunteer Coaches waiting to teach, and it is important to find more adults who struggle with reading. This role involves talking to all relevant agencies to explain the work of Read Easy, and distributing posters and leaflets. There are 2.4 million adults in England alone who cannot read, and our aim is to reach some of those in East Sussex who cannot read at all or can barely read.
