Lone Working and Safe Spaces

This course is aimed at voluntary organisations and volunteers to ensure they are aware of lone working risks and tips on how to avoid them.

The course will cover:

•             The importance of a risk assessment

•             Recognising risks for volunteers

•             Safe lone working

•             Home visits

•             Recognising the warning signs of aggression

•             De-escalating and defusing aggressive situations

•             Knowing what resources exist

•             Reporting possible safeguarding concerns

 

Target Audience:

 Anyone who works on their own, without direct supervision or support at any time.

 

This training is provided free of charge by HVA. However there will be a penalty charge of £40 per person for any unexplained absence.

This two hour course aims to give basic information relating to emergency situations both where a person is injured or has a sudden illness. Failure to attend without notice will incur a charge of £40 per person. This charge applies to all agencies.

The aim of this course is to raise awareness of personal safety in relation to moving objects and people in everyday life. Please advise us as soon as you can if you have booked a space but unable to attend, so that we can make the space available to another participant. This event will be FREE, family friendly and open to the public. There will be fun & entertainment from local groups.
