Course Aims
This course is aimed at voluntary organisations and volunteers to ensure they are aware of lone working risks and tips on how to avoid them.
The course will cover:
• The importance of a risk assessment
• Recognising risks for volunteers
• Safe lone working
• Home visits
• Recognising the warning signs of aggression
• De-escalating and defusing aggressive situations
• Knowing what resources exist
• Reporting possible safeguarding concerns

This session focuses on pathways into volunteering for young people. Whether via work experience, family connections, T-Levels, or placements, we will discuss how organisations can work with colleges and schemes to provide volunteering opportunities for young people. We’ll explore how placements can be tailored to suit organisations and what support is provided to make it easy.
Our monthly meeting for organisations and individuals working with/for older people locally
Completion of this course will enable you to:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider
• Be able to assess an incident
• Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty that is choking
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty that is in shock
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
