Come and hear about the work of the Hastings & St Leonards Cultural Connections Group with a presentation from Mandy Curtis, the current Chair of the Group. Take the opportunity to network with other local organisations in the Arts & Culture arena who will have stalls in the Marketplace. Culture plays a vital role in building strong communities, fostering social inclusion and empowering residents and the cultural landscape of Hastings & St Leonards encompasses various organisations, events and initiatives that contribute to the area's vibrant culture scene.

MECC (Making Every Contact Count) is a practical introduction to the skills in talking to people about the issues they are concerned about or the changes they are seeking to make. It is all about supporting people to identify and access the things that could help them. So if your work brings you into frequent contact with people and you want to improve the likelihood of making a real difference this training could be for you. A light lunch will be provided.

Hastings Borough Council (HBC) is in the process of drafting a new Housing Strategy for the town. This will be a five-year strategy with the aim of adoption by the Autumn 2025. It will set out how HBC will meet their ambition for everyone in the town to have a decent place to live. HVA are working with HBC to facilitate a session for community organisations to help them engage with residents directly. If you work with people who are in housing crisis or are suffering a housing crisis yourself, HBC would like to hear from you. Book yourself a place to take part in this important conversation.

Hastings Ageing Network in partnership with the ESCC Tackling Loneliness project and Good Practice Mentors are hosting a dual session of Ageism training in the morning and Warm Welcome training Warm Welcome training in the afternoon. Book for one or both (separate bookings required).
