As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for Seaview Project’s overall financial management, ensuring all financial transactions, procedures and records are carried out in accordance with internal, charity and company requirements and to work with the Service Managers, the Honorary Treasurer and Trustees on financial forecasting, business plans and grant applications. To develop and manage the delivery of budgeting and finance awareness. Main duties include:
  • To make recommendations to the trustees on all financial policies
  • To prepare annual budgets of income, expenditure and financial costings and appraisals as required
  • To monitor income and expenditure in relation to budgets and present regular management reports
  • To liaise with bankers and investment managers, monitoring cash flow requirements
  • To ensure invoicing and claims for fees, grants and Gift Aid are submitted and collected promptly
  • To ensure payment of salaries, payroll deductions, PAYE, NI and administer pensions schemes
  • To manage all Fixed Asset and Balance Code schedules
  • To scrutinise all invoices and statements of accounts and keep financial systems and under review to ensure they are efficient, minimise risk of error or fraud and comply with statutory requirements;
  • To prepare draft statutory accounts complying with the SORP for charities, and providing the Independent Examiner or auditor with all information requirements
  • To liaise with insurers and communications contractors
  • To liaise with managers providing financial information for contracts and funding/grant applications
  • To train and support the Finance Officer, including monthly supervision sessions and appraisals.
  • To act as charity commission correspondent, company secretary compliance
  • To comply with all the policies and procedures of the Seaview Project
  • To continue professional development and carry out any other tasks related to the post as may be required from time to time
