East Sussex Foster Care Association

East Sussex Foster Care Association (ESFCA) is an independent charity run by foster carers to support looked after children (LAC) registered with East Sussex County Council, their carers’ are the carer’s birth and adopted children; children who foster (CWF). ESFCA work inclusively to show vulnerable young people that with support, guidance, education, inspiration and aspiration they can embrace a brighter future for themselves. With as many as 610 children in care within East Sussex at any one time, ranging in age from infants up to 25 year olds, there are a lot of people to reach. A significant number of the children will have experienced physical, sexual or emotional abuse, chronic neglect and some have disabilities. The aim of ESFCA is to provide tangible support, advice, advocacy, information and training to support our three main stakeholders: looked after children, foster carers and children who foster (the birth and adopted children of carers).
