Volunteers' Week is fast approaching (3rd - 9th June) and we'd love to hear what plans you have to celebrate your volunteers.
HVA have a selection of activities lined up. As a charity seeking to get more people into volunteering we like to practice what we preach so, at the end of May, the HVA team will be heading to The Y Centre Hastings to help them redecorate their Green Room*.
On Monday 3rd June, we'll be at Rother Voluntary Action's Community Network Volunteers’ Week special. For more details of that event click here.
On Tuesday the 4th June, between 10 and 2pm, HVA and a number of other local organisations will be hosting an information stand in Hastings Town Centre where you can come and find out about a wide range of local volunteering opportunities, plus hear about support services that are available.
And on the Friday of Volunteers' Week we will be holding a small celebration to bring together HVA volunteers to say thanks for all they do to support our charity (we only have a small number of volunteers/trustees of our own, as most prospective volunteers are signposted by us to other organisations).
We hope you've got some great plans for Volunteers' Week, and look forward to seeing your social media posts and photos.
And don't forget, there's also a chance to take part in one-off volunteering tasks as part of 'The Big Help Out' on the 7th - 9th of June. Visit their website and download the app to see what's happening in your area.
*In addition to our annual team volunteering activity, HVA also gives staff members paid leave to carry out other volunteering activities they may choose to do. What are you doing to support your staff to volunteer?
