The course objectives are:
- To understand the Equality Act and how it affects volunteers
- To explore what is meant by equality and diversity
- To be able to put into use ‘inclusion’ in support that is provided
- how to reduce isolation and promote inclusion
This training is provided free of charge by HVA. However there will be a penalty charge of £40 per person for any unexplained absence.

The course aims to raise awareness of child protection issues and procedures and the signs and indicators of child abuse. To enable staff to identify and respond to child protection concerns and to become aware of East Sussex County Council Child Protection Procedures to encourage and develop effective inter-agency communication where child protection matters arise.
Making Every Contact Count is suitable for anyone in a client-facing role, including salaried staff and volunteers.
Emergency First Aid at Work courses train delegates to a level of skill and confidence to deal with basic life saving in emergency situations before medical backup arrives.
