Safeguarding Adults Awareness for volunteers

The aim of this course is to raise awareness of what adult abuse is and how to raise a concern. Please advise us as soon as you can if you have booked a space but unable to attend, so that we can make the space available to another participant. Failure to attend without notice will incur a charge of £40 per person. This charge applies to all agencies.

The objectives of this course are:

To introduce the legislation regarding safeguarding adults

To understand the different forms of abuse and recognise signs

To know how to react and what to do if someone discloses abuse

To understand the process of raising a concern with the local authority or police if an emergency.

Please note: Non-attendance on this course without notice will incur a £40 charge.

Making Every Contact Count (MECC), this is a behavioural change technique which is now commonly used by health and social care staff during their day-to-day interactions or health appointments with individuals, although you don’t need to be in one of these roles to attend the training, it can be beneficial to anyone.
