With an unprecedented cost of living crisis, political uncertainty and pressures on health services, this winter looks like being a very challenging one that will impact negatively on some of the most vulnerable residents of the Borough. HVA is working with local organisations and will be collaborating in partnership with the Community Response Hub and the Hastings Community Network on the production of a Winter Readiness Plan. Whether it is keeping warm, access to grants or benefits, or maintaining good health, a planned and “joined up” approach is most likely to have real impact.
This HCN event is part of this process and enables local organisations to contribute to the plan and share their ideas.

Come and try out this informal seated exercise session with free refreshments and an opportunity find out more about local Age-Friendly activities.
We will be joined at this meeting by Rosie Leech from Hastings Borough Council and the new Healthy Ageing Officer to understand what the next steps are for Hastings in the Age Friendly Communities programme and what the networks role will be in this.
Mr Hastings & St Leonards and HVA are bringing the Baton of Hope to Hastings on September 23rd, 2025, as part of the National Baton of Hope tour and you have the opportunity to carry the Baton on the Hastings Leg of the tour. Baton Bearers carry the Baton as a symbol of hope, togetherness solidarity and a shared purpose, whether that’s in memory of someone lost to suicide, suicide survivors or anyone who is passionate about suicide prevention. This is an opportunity to honour lives lost, raise awareness and spark conversations.
