Do More, Faster, and Involve Everyone, Using Sociocracy - An Introductory Workshop

Registration is closed for this event
Learn how to get your work done with Sociocracy, a consent-based way of making decisions and organising groups. In half a day, you’ll get theory, examples, and practical experience applying the principles of Sociocracy to issues that matter to you and other participants. Participants will learn: • The principles of Consent, Circles, Feedback, and Elections by Consent, and how applying these principles can bring healthy forms of collaborative power into any group. • The history of Sociocracy, how Sociocracy came to be adopted in the world’s largest communities movement, and how this movement from the global South is now being adopted across Europe. • How to facilitate a group decision using the principle of Consent. • Why asking for objections enables visionaries and sceptics to work together effectively. • When not to make decisions by consent, and how traditional ways of leading are an important part of the way forward. This introductory program will run for an initial half day, and will then be supplemented by a follow up session a few weeks later.

MECC (Making Every Contact Count) is a practical introduction to the skills in talking to people about the issues they are concerned about or the changes they are seeking to make. It is all about supporting people to identify and access the things that could help them. So if your work brings you into frequent contact with people and you want to improve the likelihood of making a real difference this training could be for you. A light lunch will be provided.
