International Men's Day Collaboration and Celebration

Mr Hastings and St Leonards invites you to Celebrate and Collaborate with us on International Men's Day. We will announce the exciting Baton of Hope News for Hastings , and you can find out how you can get involved in the Hastings Baton of Hope Festival in 2025. Together we can make a positive difference for men and their comunities so come along for the afternoon and join us for activities, discussion , planning and fun. Light refreshments will be available. Join us , have some fun and make a difference

Course Aims
This course is aimed at voluntary organisations and volunteers to ensure they are aware of lone working risks and tips on how to avoid them.
The course will cover:
• The importance of a risk assessment
• Recognising risks for volunteers
• Safe lone working
• Home visits
• Recognising the warning signs of aggression
• De-escalating and defusing aggressive situations
• Knowing what resources exist
• Reporting possible safeguarding concerns
Target Audience:
Anyone who works on their own, without direct supervision or support at any time.

Are you new in post or keen to find out more about the sector? This workshop, led by HVA Director Steve Manwaring, will include a briefing about the scale and contribution of the VCSE sector in Hastings, information about the services HVA provide, and an opportunity to hear about and discuss the key issues affecting the sector.
