Hastings Ageing Network April meeting

We will focus on Accessibility, plus discuss plans for Loneliness Awareness Week.

Our monthly meeting for organisations and individuals working with/for older people locally. We always welcome new partners at the Ageing Network meetings, so if you know of anyone working with older people, or are simply in contact with older people who are keen to have a voice on issues related to ageing, then do invite them to connect to the network.

For this meeting we will focus on Accessibility, plus discuss plans for Loneliness Awareness Week.

Events

We would like to invite you to our Hastings listening tour stakeholder workshop. The workshop brings together local VCSE and health and social care partners to discuss the issues affecting the local people, and how things could be improved. We will be exploring various topics including:
• Accessing primary care
• Social isolation
• Social determinants of health and wellbeing
Refreshments including a light lunch will be provided from 1:30pm, with the workshop beginning at 2pm. Feedback shared will be used to contribute to ongoing work to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents.

Listening Tour Survey
Alongside our community engagement activities, we are also running our listening tour survey, which is open to anyone living in the Hastings and St Leonards area. The survey is available via this link: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/3Hastingslisteningtour/ and we can also provide hardcopies with freepost envelopes on request. Please do share this survey with the people you support, and please do get in touch if you would like further information.

Completion of this course will enable you to:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider
• Be able to assess an incident
• Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty that is choking
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty that is in shock
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
Please note: There is a £50 charge for this course.
