Description
Safe Families is a nationwide Christian charity offering hope and belonging to families in need. We work across Hastings and East Sussex, partnering with the local authority and with family hubs to identify isolated families and to put support in place before a crisis happens. We seek to build connections and relationships between our families and local volunteers who are trained and supported by Safe Families to get alongside parents and children.
At Safe Families we believe that loving the one in front of us and helping them to find belonging can and is changing the social fabric of Britain. Could you spare an hour a week to transform someone's life and help a family to feel that someone cares? Perhaps you can offer to meet a family for a coffee once a week or check in on the phone? Perhaps you can meet up for a walk or for a trip to the park? Could you offer your DIY or gardening skills to help someone who feels overwhelmed? Could you offer a child a spare room for a few nights to provide much needed respite or to prevent them being taken into care?
