Find A Group - ACORN the Union

ACORN is a mass membership community based union of working class people, tenants, workers and residents. Organising a network of low to middle income people who want to campaign for a fairer deal for our community. ACORN Hastings has recently officially launched and we currently have 46 members living and working in Hastings who were motivated to set up a local ACORN group due to concerns around rising rents and the lack of secure affordable homes for ordinary people living in the area. The union is led by local members and as we grow in members - other issues may also come to light (e.g some of our members are concerned about the lack of public transport in the area).
We believe that ordinary working people deserve the means to a dignified and comfortable life. We believe in the capacity of everyone to decide their own future and to work collectively to find solutions to the problems facing our neighbourhoods, towns and cities. We believe that solidarity and the desire for justice are fundamental to being human. We want to support one another to campaign for fairer society for ordinary people.
