YES is commissioned by East Sussex County Council. YES works with young people aged 16 – 18 who are NEET or at risk of NEET (Not in Education Employment or Training) to help move them into EET (Education Employment or Training). Each young person is allocated a Skills and Employability Adviser, who will help support them to identify and overcome any barriers that maybe preventing them from achieving a positive progression. These barriers may include homelessness, confidence, motivation, substance misuse, offending behaviour, financial difficulties, travel, relationship breakdowns etc.
YES work across East Sussex, with offices based in Hastings and Eastbourne. The Service can meet young people at the offices or in the community to offer Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG), explore options, apply for EET opportunities, write CVs and help improve employability skills.
