Active Hastings Youth Link Worker - 2 Year Fixed Term

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Active Hastings team as we expand the programme, thanks to funding from Hastings Primary Care Network. Active Hastings is a partnership project between Hastings Borough Council and East Sussex County Council, which aims to increase physical activity levels and reduce health inequalities in the least active members of our community.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about raising physical activity levels in young people to work with local strategic partners and activity providers to increase awareness of physical activity opportunities for children and young people in Hastings and St Leonards and break down the barriers to participation that our least active young people are facing.

You will be responsible for identifying gaps in the local offer and working with the network of local instructors and sports coaches to launch new sport, physical activity, and active play sessions. You will act as the strategic link between a range of partners and providers, to ensure that funding and activity is directed where it is most needed.

You will ideally have a background in sport or physical activity coaching, although training can be provided for the right candidate if their experience lies within community development.

We are keen to support your training and personal development and offer flexible working, including some home working. Funding is currently secured for a two-year period, but we will aim to source further funding to continue the programme beyond this period, although there is no guarantee at this stage.
