Carer Support Workers (2 posts)

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of local carers?

Carer Support Workers provide one-to-one support to carers by phone, face-to-face in the community, facilitate carers groups, and undertake joint work with our partners in the NHS, Adult Social Care and the voluntary sector. You can work from home or at our Eastbourne office where this is possible within safe Covid practice.
You will need the ability to quickly build rapport and maintain carers’ confidence by identifying what kind of support would help their caring role to be sustainable and satisfying. You will be providing useful guidance, a listening ear and referring to relevant services.
In this role you will be involved in implementing an exciting pilot project to extend our current extensive range of carer support to include Carers Reviews, starting in October 2021, in collaboration with East Sussex County Council.
You will identify, promote and advocate for the rights of unpaid carers. You will need an understanding of unpaid carers’ needs and rights. You will help to build and maintain our strong partnerships with colleagues in health, social care and voluntary sectors.   The successful applicants will be skilled communicators with excellent IT and organisational skills.
You will be encouraged to develop your skills and knowledge within our supportive team.
