Cut Flower Social Enterprise Leader

Little Gate Farm coaches and supports adults with learning disabilities and autism (our work trainees) with the aim of supporting them into paid employment.

Within our cut flower social enterprise, our trainees, with staff support, grow, harvest and sell quality cut flowers to local florists, markets and local events. We help trainees to build a wide range of horticultural and employment skills, while supporting them to achieve their individual work and life goals. This work not only forms the basis of supporting trainees into paid work, but raises aspirations and confidence, and improves the health and wellbeing of both the trainees and staff that work within the social enterprise.

In this exciting new position, you will lead the development of the social enterprise to deliver on its commercial and social objectives. You will work closely with a team of colleagues to develop the business model and strategic direction of the enterprise. You will support team communication, planning and coordination to deliver on that strategy. You will build relations with existing and new customers. You will work directly on production and marketing and will support our trainees in growing high quality cut flowers and preparing them for sale. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to grow their experience. The role supports someone who leads through allowing their team to work and innovate within freedom and trust.

Salary: £12 per hour rising to £12.50 per hour after completion of a successful probationary period £24,960 per annum based on working 40 hours per week

Working hours: This role is ideally full time (usual working pattern, 40 hours per week Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm) with some flexibility. Part time hours may be considered (state on application)
