We're seeking to recruit 2 Energy and Financial Inclusion Advisers to deliver advice helping people address the financial challenges they're facing. There will be some flexibility on location, and the post will be based in one of the Citizens Advice offices across East Sussex including Eastbourne, Newhaven, Hailsham, St Leonards-on-Sea, and Bexhill.
You'll join a team of highly skilled advisers delivering advice sessions to both individuals and groups, engaging them on topics covering energy advice, debt prevention and money management. You'll help them develop skills such as budgeting, using bank accounts, and assist with benefits checks to help maximise their income.

Location: One of the Citizens Advice offices across East Sussex including Eastbourne, Newhaven, Hailsham, St Leonards-on-Sea, and Bexhill

• Develop a deep understanding of household energy issues, including energy efficiency, meters, billing, behaviour change and renewable energy.
• Use sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of the issues and empower clients.
• Continue learning and gaining experience every day;
• Work with a range of different people, independently and in a team;
• Make a real difference in people’s quality of life and have a positive impact in your community.
This is an opportunity for someone with previous experience working in a similar Citizens Advice or equivalent advice role, proven through recent employment or volunteer roles. Full training and support will be given to the successful candidate to enable them to carry out their role.
The role will include outreach work and applicants will need to hold a full driver’s license and own or have access to a vehicle.

Role details
Salary: £26,500 FTE
Benefits: defined contribution pension scheme
Hours per week: 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Potential for flexible part time working. Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) system in operation
Annual leave: 20 days, plus bank holidays
