Based in SCDA’s Head Offices, Newhaven with some travel across locations in East Sussex
Full time hours (37 hrs) pw, permanent contract
Salary range - £28,696 - £33,622 per annum (upper levels awarded for thorough experience)
We are looking for an experienced, solution-focussed problem solver, with a pragmatic approach, who will multi-task and work flexibly to support the smooth-running of our centres in Newhaven and other E. Sussex premises.
You will positively contribute to our project delivery and social businesses with all facilities and premises matters, listening to the requirements of your colleagues and coordinating and resolving issues as required in a friendly, collaborative manner. The Estates and Premises Manager will take responsibility for leading on all Health & Safety matters for SCDA. Sourcing new and appropriate delivery locations to match requirements and ensuring the smooth transition to new premises, you will lead on negotiating existing and new centralised service contracts for SCDA, any insurance matters, and have oversight of the company van. This role supervises our Facilities & Premises Coordinator for Newhaven, who in turn holds responsibilities for our community centre & users in Newhaven.
From your previous experience, you will use your initiative and be a motivated self-starter, able to plan and manage your time, the issues on your rolling list, and how you communicate to others effectively. Flexibility and a positive approach, with a clear personal commitment to inclusion, diversity and anti-discriminatory practice is a must.
We are looking for people to join our team who have the qualities and skills we feel would most benefit our internal and external clients; professionalism, empathy, kindness and understanding. In return, we understand people want to work in a supportive environment with friendly colleagues. We offer a flexible, hybrid approach to delivery wherever possible, annual leave of 23 days per year pro rata plus bank holidays and sick pay from the start (increasing with service), additional sick pay per year for planned operations and recovery, a pension scheme, bereavement leave, and managers who are available to you… plus a day off for your birthday! Being a car driver & owner is essential for the role, though this role can also have occasional use of the company van.
Interviews will be held in Newhaven.
