Executive Director

We are looking for an outstanding leader to become the Executive Director of East Sussex Community Voice (ESCV) and work with our directors, staff and volunteers to further develop our organisation and make a real difference for everyone in East Sussex.

As an ambitious Community Interest Company (CIC), we are seeking an individual with strong leadership qualities who will help us ensure that East Sussex Community Voice continues to be an effective and independent agent of local change.

Working pattern: 35 hours per week with a flexible approach to days/hours required
Salary: £52,000-£57,000 per annum depending on experience plus 6% employers pension contribution
Annual Leave: 27 days per year plus Bank Holidays
Contract duration: Permanent
Location: Hybrid working at the ESCV office in Eastbourne and remote working/working from home, with travel to other locations as required

Since 2013, ESCV has supported the public to have their say in the design, commissioning, and delivery of services in our county, by putting people at the centre of what we do. Our activities include delivery of an award-winning Healthwatch, large-scale public engagement and community development projects (such as the Interreg-funded VRAC project) and we host the East Sussex Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector Alliance.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and empathetic leader who will inspire and empower others to share in achieving continued success in all our work. You will be a strategic thinker and proven relationship builder at a senior level, have a track record of delivering strategies, operational plans and projects to deliver tangible outcomes, and possess excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to manage staff and build high performing teams.

You will have a proven track record of managing high-level relationships with key decision makers and possess extensive knowledge and experience of public engagement, the health and social care landscape, company governance and income generation and financial control.

If you have a passion for working with a great team who make a real difference for people across East Sussex, we would be delighted to receive your application and look forward to hearing from you.

“East Sussex Community Voice is an Equal Opportunities and Diversity employer and welcomes candidates from all sections of the community.”
