Head of Finance & Resources
Salary: £44,680 per annum
Full time. Based in Lewes, East Sussex, hybrid working available
Closing date: 13th March 2022
Sussex Community Foundation is one of the fastest growing community foundations in the country. We raise funds, and give grants to grassroots charities right across Sussex and reach the charities that others cannot. We do this by inspiring high net worth people and organisations to support their local communities and providing bespoke services that show them the difference their donations make. We are creating this new post of Head of Finance and Resources to help the Foundation to continue to grow and to become more efficient and effective.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and working as part of the management team, the Head of Finance and Resources will manage the day to day finance and resources for the Foundation. In addition to managing a Finance & Resources Manager, you will also manage projects that involve other staff or volunteers and support the Chief Executive in leading the organisation and delivering its strategy as part of the management team. Responsibilities will include managing financial systems and processes, preparing financial plans, budgets and management accounts as well as preparing financial reports for donors. You will also manage the annual audit, develop the Foundation’s book-keeping system and manage payroll. The Foundation is currently reviewing our overall strategy and as such you will have the opportunity to input into this new vision.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role within a charity or business environment, and will be either fully/part qualified or qualified by experience. You will have excellent financial and accounting skills with good knowledge of book-keeping and accounting practices and packages. You will have excellent people management skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders at all levels, a passion for the mission of SCF and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
