Amaze is a Sussex-based charity that supports families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Amazing Futures is our service for young people with SEND aged 14-25 which includes social groups, peer support, careers advice and casework around education, health and care.
The service is expanding in response to growing mental health needs of the YP attending Amazing Futures. We are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to offer targeted, short-term, emotional wellbeing support for YP with SEND, on a 1:1 basis as well as leading or assisting in group sessions.
You will be part of the dynamic and ambitious youth services team at Amaze (9 staff, 20+ volunteers), and work out of our Eastbourne office.
You will be committed to building effective relationships, taking an asset-based approach that is underpinned by co-production with young people and helping to develop Amaze’s partnerships with other service providers across the county.
Amaze is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity and to creating an inclusive working environment. We believe having a diverse workforce at all levels allows us to represent the communities we serve.
We want to employ staff who have Lived Experience of SEND – yourself and/or as a parent/carer of a child, young person, or adult, with SEND
We particularly welcome applicants from Black Asian and minoritised ethnic communities.
