Outdoor Learning facilitator

We are looking for outdoor practitioners to join our team

Over the last 6 years we have been delivering high quality nature-based groups to children, adults, families, and communities. We are now expanding our delivery and reach, allowing us to work with more people.

We need experienced and skilled outdoor learning practitioners to join our team. We need group leaders and support staff to help us deliver on our growing vision.

Work could include:

·        Children's outdoor learning and play groups in school holidays and after school

·        Outdoor alternative education groups during term time

·        Adult skill-based workshops

·        Adult mental health and wellbeing groups

·        Community groups including seasonal celebrations

All our work takes place outdoors and includes the following areas:

·        Woodland groups (Bushcraft, foraging, cooking, forest school, fireside celebrations etc.)

·        Beach groups (fishing, beach craft, coastal foraging, beach school, sea swimming etc)

·        Growing food (community allotments, permaculture, cooking, wellbeing groups, alternative education etc.)

·        Greenspaces (hiking, exploration, East hill, marsh lands, community greenspaces etc.)

·        In Schools (alternative outdoor education, forest school, food growing etc.)

What we need:

Group leaders: We are looking for the best outdoor group leaders to help us expand our work. We need individuals to have experience of leading groups of children and or adults outside in all weathers. Candidates will need a good practical outdoor skill set and ability to hold space safely. You will need to manage staff and volunteers, as well as organising and leading activities.

Support staff: We need staff to support the organisation and delivery of a range of outdoor learning groups. Previous outdoor learning experience Is preferable. Helpful qualifications and experience in the following would be helpful:

·        Forest school

·        Bushcraft or other skill based outdoor learning

·        Teaching / mentoring

·        Working with children in schools, youth groups etc.

All positions will initially be on a self-employed basis. We cannot guarantee a set number of hours at present, but we do have lots of opportunities for growth and the right candidates have the potential to create lots of exciting work opportunities with us.

Rates of pay are variable depending on the group, but we do pay staff very fairly.

All positions are subject to safeguarding and DBS checks.
