The Heart of Sidley (HoS) Big Local programme works to improve the local community.
Optivo and HoS are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, organised, highly motivated and passionate person with Communtiy Development experience.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the resident-led endorsed Community Project Plan.
The programme is supported by Optivo’s Social Impact team.

You’ll need to:
• Deliver projects as identified in the HoS community plan.
• Develop and deliver community development activities and events in the Heart of Sidley area.
• Support residents and community groups through providing advice and guidance, facilitate capacity building and coordinate training opportunities.
• Work with partner organisations and services.
• Actively seek out and contribute to the development of funding applications to support Heart of Sidley activity.
• Recruit and mentor community volunteers
• Manage the collection of data required for the project milestones.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets
• Attend Heart of Sidley meetings
You’ll have:
• A Community Development qualification, or equivalent, or proven experience of running community projects.
• Experience of project fundraising
• Understanding and experience of working with community groups and volunteers.
• Ability to work under your own initiative
• ‘Can-do’ attitude
• Strong organisational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of the local area
You’ll need experience of:
• Effective communication skills and ability to build and maintain successful relationships and partnerships
• Experience of project management, monitoring and evaluation.
• Effective organisation and administration skills
• Ability to draft clear and concise correspondence and reports
You’ll need to demonstrate:
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse client group
