We are an award winning, innovative organisation aiming to empower those affected by substance misuse make choices that lead to change. Alongside drug and alcohol treatment services for adult women and specialist support for parents, we have dedicated services for children/young people affected by substance misuse in the family including therapy and a creche, a Sex Workers’ Outreach Project, a service for women who have had children removed from their care and support for young people new to treatment.

We are looking for:
We are looking to appoint a Recovery Worker for our East Sussex service to work in a developmental position. This
means you do not need to have lots of experience to apply for the role. You may be working in a different sector
and interested in a career change. You may have had time off for maternity and looking to get back into the
workplace. Oasis will provide support, training and development to enable you to progress and develop into the
role.
Eventually you will be working with women who have experience of drug or alcohol misuse delivering recovery
based, psychosocial groups both online and in person to OWRS clients. One to one key working appointments will
also be offered on the phone, online and in person to OWRS clients. You will work alongside other professionals
and agencies to ensure women are supported to meet their recovery goals. This role will be based between home
working and the office in Hastings, with some outreach work in the community.
You will have:
• An understanding of some of the key issues women substance misusers face and a commitment to helping them access relevant support
• Willingness to undertake learning and development to improve skills in delivering quality, person-centred interventions (both in group and 1:1 settings) to women affected by substance misuse
• Proven verbal and written communication skills with excellent IT skills and experience of using data management systems
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as on own initiative
• Resilient, empathetic attitude and work in a way that is reflective, adaptable and non-judgemental and adhere to professional boundaries at all times
• Be willing and able to travel across East Sussex to support clients
