The Senior Youth and Community Worker plays a pivotal role in the implementation and delivery of Groundwork South youth and community projects working across Hastings & Rother. The central focus of the role involves supporting Project Managers with delivering outstanding services for young people and communities including planning a programme of activities, supervising staff, monitoring & evaluation and direct face to face delivery with participants.
The role will work across several existing conservation, horticulture and youth projects until March 2025 with a focus on young people aged between 7-18 and vulnerable adults. Delivery will take place on different days to meet the needs of the project and some weekend work may be required.
The role will include supporting the Project Manager with implementing and quality assuring best practice procedures relating to safeguarding, volunteer management and health and safety in order to achieve a safe environment for young people to grow and develop.
This role would be ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and vulnerable adults achieve their individual potential and creating opportunities so they are able to enhance their life skills and make positive life choices using conservation and horticulture as foundation.
A full UK driving licence and/or ability travel across Hastings and Rother is required.
Location: The Bale House or Discovery Centre, Hastings
Contract: Fixed Term until 31 March 2025, Annualised (the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid equally over the year)
Salary: £12,750 per annum (£13.07 per hour) (FTE £25,500 per annum)
Hours: 18.75 per week but this will vary depending on delivery sessions, including some weekends
