Senior Team Leader – Making it Happen

SCDA believes in building on the strengths of a community. Our Senior Team Leader will take a strategic, Asset Based Community Development approach to work with our delivery partners to identify opportunities for, develop and co-ordinate community assets to create opportunities and initiatives to benefit communities across Sussex. Our aim is to facilitate the development of locally ‘grown’ sustainable solutions that meet people and community needs.

Part time 30 hours per week, Based in Newhaven (3 days – Senior Team Leader Newhaven, 1 day – Lewes District Team Leader), with frequent travel to delivery locations across East Sussex (car owner and driver is essential)
Salary range £24,982 - £29,856 per annum, dependent on skill & experience (upper level awarded for exceptional/highly experienced candidates)

You will be responsible for:
 Design, development of funding, delivery, monitoring and evaluating a range of community based initiatives, services, activities, projects and events which meet identified community needs.
 Investigating and identifying community assets through multiple networking opportunities
 Supporting and coordinating effective partnership working with our delivery partners
 Monitoring and evaluating work undertaken in line with various funding targets, and providing written and statistical reports and evidence as required to funders, management and other partners.
 Leading on the creation, development and use of appropriate processes and procedures necessary to ensure, where appropriate, a consistent approach to service delivery is adopted
by all delivery partners.
 Managing a small team of Community Development Workers and volunteers, and liaising regularly with delivery partners’ teams.

Ideal candidates will be skilled Team Leaders who have experience of using asset-based community development approaches with communities to deliver positive outcomes. You will be a great communicator who enjoys motivating and inspiring a wide range of people, and who understands the complexities of recruiting and supporting champions / volunteers.
