East Sussex STAR Drug and Alcohol Health, Wellbeing & Recovery Service
Salary: £47,600 - £52,734 with up to £5,000 per year recruitment and retention allowance
Office based in Eastbourne or Hastings as this role is countywide

We want to employ an experienced manager who can deliver integrated, accessible, high quality and comprehensive substance misuse treatment services using an asset-based community development approach.
We work closely with East Sussex Recovery Alliance, (ESRA) and many other services; encouraging, facilitating and empowering people in their recovery by developing their confidence, skills, coping strategies and resilience so that they can achieve sustained recovery from substance misuse.
We support service users in identifying their own personal goals, enabling them to embrace change, develop hope and optimism and to use their new strengths to enjoy discovering new opportunities and to lead fulfilling lives.
This includes empowering people to manage and take responsibility for their own physical and mental well-being, achieve financial stability, access stable housing, reintegrate into society, stop criminal behaviours, escape domestic abuse, access training and employment and improve their quality of life.
You will have
Substantial experience of service management and development,
A background in a relevant field supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people
A commitment and passion to deliver an outstanding service
Exceptional, robust human resource management skills and knowledge
A thorough understanding of substance misuse related harm and its impact on individuals, families and communities
The ability and tenacity to thrive in a culture of high expectations and devolved responsibility
A determination to make STAR an accessible and inviting service that changes people’s lives in East Sussex.
