Are you a clear-headed and caring person, with great communication skills, who can also stay calm under pressure?
We are looking for two permanent, full-time support advocates to join our friendly team.
You’ll be based in the heart of operations here at The Advocacy People, a charity that supports people’s right to be heard when decisions are being made about their health or social care.
Working partly in the town centre office in Hastings, and partly from home, together with colleagues you’ll be the first point of contact for professionals and members of the public.
Here’s what one of our support advocates, Kayleigh, says about the job. She'd been working as a community carer before joining The Advocacy People around a year ago:
"The main thing I enjoy about my role is the range of people I get to speak to everyday, and the feeling of making a difference to someone at a time in their life that can be uncertain and scary for them. No matter how small that difference is, I always walk away feeling fulfilled.
"This job has provided me with an insight to an area in health and social care that I had not known much about, but is such a vital service for so many people. I now tell everyone I can about advocacy.
"I would recommend working for The Advocacy People, the Contact Centre particularly, due to the wonderful team I work with every day, who are always there to help, listen and encourage me to be my best.
"I can honestly say that I have never worked with a better bunch of colleagues than I have in my role as a support advocate."
