Sussex Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (SASBAH)
SASBAH’s main objective is to support those with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, helping to create and develop their best opportunities in life. We provide the following services:
The Adviser Service: information, advice, advocacy, support on all issues of need for service users; The Social Programme: full and varied programme of social events; The Sussex Buddy Scheme: pairing individual service users with a trained volunteer ‘buddy’ to increase social access; The Education Advice Service: helping young service users get the best from their education; Youth Work: includes a fortnightly youth club for all disabilities, many youth projects and support for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme; Residential Breaks: respite and activity holidays for different age groups; Sasbah Supporters Committee: a place for disabled people to consult on wider issues; Health Clinic: a multi-disciplinary clinic offering specific health care advice and treatment; Welfare Grants: providing urgent financial assistance; Social Enterprise Centre: training, work experience and assistance with transition to employment
