St Michael's Hospice
Providing support throughout Hastings and Rother for over 25 years,we aim to provide the highest standard of palliative care for people and effective support for their families and carers. We offer a flexible response to the needs of each individual through a combination of specialist palliative in-patient care (28 beds) and a Day Services centre which offers respite, good company and support. We provide care, not only within the Hospice, but also in the community. Many patients are supported at home with skilled nursing support, including night sitting services. Our volunteer hospice Neighbours provide practical support with everyday tasks. We aim to meet people's individual needs and we believe that, as well as expert medical care, it is just as important to care for a person’s practical, social, spiritual and emotional needs too.
We also aim to support patients and their families. This includes chaplaincy, social and bereavement support.
Our services are provided free of charge and with equal access to all in need. We are grateful for the continued generosity of our community, without which we would not be able to provide care and support to local people.
The education of others caring for the dying and working in partnership with other services are important aspects of our work. We have 10 shops across the area, selling good quality used goods and we also collect bulky or heavy donated items.
