Celebrating Broomgrove Community Centre

After months of refurbishment, Broomgrove Community Centre is ready to unveil its new and improved facilities at a special Open Day on 17th May 2025. Since work began in November 2024, the centre has undergone a transformation—with a particular focus on its new and improved kitchen. This project is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

But Broomgrove Community Centre is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a vital hub for the local area, offering a wide range of activities and services including Stay & Play sessions for families and under-5s, after school clubs, venue hire for parties and celebrations, cultural events, wellness and physical activities for all ages, lunch clubs, dog training and serving as the home base for both the Coastal Twirlers and the Broomgrove Social Supermarket.

The transformation has been made possible thanks to the dedicated work of Oasis Community Project East Hastings, who took over the lease and management of the centre in 2024. Their vision has been instrumental in helping Broomgrove grow into a thriving community resource.

Hastings Voluntary Action (HVA) has also worked closely with Oasis to bring this vision to life. “HVA were pleased to work on this project to bring about much needed improvements to this vital community asset.” Steve Manwaring, Director, HVA

As the centre prepares to open its doors once again, excitement is building for what the future holds. The Open Day will mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Broomgrove Community Centre—one filled with connection, creativity, and community spirit.

“We can’t wait to welcome everyone back and celebrate together—it’s more than a building, it’s a place where community grows” Oasis Community Project East Hastings.
