The 2025 Refugee Week theme was 'Community as a Superpower'. At a time where there are so many challenges and so much uncertainty, all over the world, we need to remember how vital strong communities are. At our celebration event we were joined by over 100 people for music, for dancing, for food and to come together to celebrate what we have in common rather than what divides us.
Special thanks this year to St Michaels Hospice; Hastings Community of Sanctuary; Khalid’s Kitchen; Community Chef John Day; A Touch of Gentleness; Svitlo-Amal for their beautiful music and for creating Links’ first toddler mosh-pit; and Hastings Mayor. Thanks, as ever, to HVA colleagues who gave up their time to join us, paint nails, create art and make the event brilliant.
Lastly, the Links Project has a volunteer team who fully embody the theme of community as a superpower. Their dedication, kindness and generosity made this event, and the ongoing project, a huge success.
See you all next year!
