This varied role helps ensure unpaid carers across East Sussex receive the support they need by coordinating volunteer involvement, managing referrals, and assisting with the smooth running of our services and community activities

Job Description
The services that the Association of Carers currently provides throughout East Sussex include Respite with befriending, Computer help at home, Carers Lunch Club, Carers Wellbeing, Talk and Support, and Carers cafes. The post-holder will be required to provide 15 hours per week to support the Volunteer Manager in recruiting volunteers and 7.5 hours to support the Service Coordinator in delivering our services to adult unpaid carers.
The service delivery part of the role will include taking referrals, conducting initial meetings, and introducing volunteers to the family they will be working with.The volunteer support will include recruiting volunteers, conducting DBS and reference checks, providing support to volunteers, and attending volunteer training and inductions to assist the trainer.
Main Responsibilities
· Supporting the Service team in ensuring that the Association of Carers services are delivered efficiently and effectively
· Supporting the Volunteer Manager in the recruitment and support of Volunteers
Essential Duties
· Ensuring that all records and the database are maintained and updated when necessary· Visiting Adult Carers in their own homes and assessing their needs, finding out about their interests, likes, and dislikes, and ensuring our services are appropriate and/or signposting them to other relevant organisations or services as required.
· To set up the service of Computer Help at Home
· Attend monthly Carers Lunch clubs and cafes as required
· Working in partnership with the Volunteer Manager to match volunteers
· Meeting regularly with the team to match and set up volunteers with Adult carers
· Identifying potential safeguarding issues, seeking guidance, and responding accordingly
· Ensure that all work undertaken is carried out by the AoC’s Adult Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities, Diversity, Confidentiality, and Data Protection policies and all other relevant policies.
· Ensuring that all policies are adhered to
· Supporting the Volunteer Manager to recruit, retain, and support volunteers
· Processing volunteer DBS checks
· Supporting the Volunteer Manager with volunteer training and Induction
·To ensure that reminder emails are sent to volunteers regarding support meetings/training, etc.
· Attending regular volunteer strategy meetings
· Undertaking volunteer interviews in the absence of the Volunteer Manager
· Conducting review calls with volunteers and Carers at required intervals and highlighting any issues to a Manager as necessary
· Working out of office hours (early evenings and weekends) to support events
· Attending network events/meetings in place of the Volunteer Manager as necessary
· To work in partnership with other voluntary bodies and build and sustain links with these partners
· To undertake any other duties as required by the Volunteer Manager or Charity manager, that are in line with the post
· To assist with social and fundraising events when necessary
· Keeping up to date with relevant legislation, policy, and practice
· Attending training courses, meetings, and seminars, ensuring that information is shared with other staff members and volunteers
· To work collaboratively with the rest of the team to help deliver the AoC’s aims and objectives, and assist with general office duties in the absence of other members of staff
