Public services in East Sussex are changing rapidly, not least plans to integrate health and social care services. Together with reforms in other services like education, housing and criminal justice, it has never been a more important time to capture the voice of the public.
Do you have what it takes to make sure the experiences and views of the public drive service improvement? This exciting opportunity has arisen at East Sussex Community Voice (ESCV) to use evidence and insight to put the voice of the public at the centre of decision making.
ESCV is a Community Interest Company established in 2013 to capture and promote public views on the design and delivery of local public services. We work with adults and children across services including health, social care, education and housing. We deliver Healthwatch East Sussex (HWES), the health and social care watchdog for East Sussex which is independent of the NHS and local authorities. Our aim is to ensure the voice of the public helps to achieve the best possible health and social care services for East Sussex, especially for those less heard in the system.
We offer the opportunity to make a direct impact on improving local services through the voices of the public, including patients and service users. We have independent statutory powers and help empower communities to change the way services are planned, delivered and evaluated.
Our Evidence and Insight Manager will lead our intelligence and research activity, including management of relevant projects. You will be capable of using and analysing diverse information with a variety of audiences and ensure that we generate credible evidence to inform our priorities, programmes and use of statutory powers for intervention.
You will need previous experience of leading in an evidence and insight role with a sound understanding of developing and applying research and intelligence systems. You will have experience of quantitative and qualitative research practices, excellent IT skills, communication skills, report writing ability and be a team player.
