Action Tutoring
Action Tutoring supports young people facing socio-economic disadvantage to achieve a meaningful level of academic attainment, with a view to enabling them to go on to further education, employment or training. We do this by partnering high quality volunteer tutors with pupils to increase their subject knowledge, confidence and study skills.
We focus on preparing pupils for their maths and English GCSEs and SATs. Tutors are required to be proficient in either of these subjects, and to commit to an 8 - 10 week programme, based in a school local to them, for an hour per week. Tutors are provided with training, all the necessary resources, DBS checks and a reference at the end of a completed programme. Not to mention the invaluable experience of helping a disadvantaged pupil develop.
Our vision is a world in which no child's life chances are limited by their socio-economic background.
