Sova is looking for adult (18+) volunteers in the Hastings and surrounding area who will visit, mentor and befriend a young person living in foster care or a children's home. Volunteer Independent Visitors (or IVs for short!) are matched with a young person by personality and interests. This is a long term volunteering role (a year +) and generally IVs visit their young person about once a month. Volunteers will need to undergo a two day training course and provide 2 references and a DBS check. Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed. Looking for all kinds of people with a wide range of backgrounds and experience. We also work closely with CGL who provide advocates for young people in care.
