Church Together (previously Churches Together) is a voluntary organisation open to all Christian churches professing loyalty to core historic Christian truths. Differences in structure, practice and governance are accepted positively.
Church Together has two main areas of function. Firstly,to promote understanding and shared experience between Christian congregations in the town as Christ instructs His followers to be "one". Secondly to encourage unconditional friendship, service, support to any within the town, whether they are of a different faith or none. This is offered by many churches and separate special groups across the whole age ranging from many preschool groups, youth groups and senior citizens groups. Examples of special groups include 'Hope Kitchen', for those struggling at the margins of our community, 'Snowflake', winter night shelter for homeless men and women, "Street Pastors"
offering unconditional help to those celebrating the weekend.
