The service aims to improve the support and information available to families and friends of people experiencing mental distress. This includes working with mental health teams to increase awareness of carers' needs and working with carers themselves by offering information courses. There is a free booklet available, 'Information Booklet for Mental Health Carers' compiled by ICE and distributed through mental health professionals .
