Hastings Voluntary Action Holistic Health Project is pleased to report that the project’s first event was held on Saturday 13th July at Hastings Observer Building. The event brought together a great team of local complementary practitioners all keen to reach a new audience of young people aged 18 to 24 by offering taster sessions of their particular wellbeing therapies.
Feedback from the practitioners:
• Thanks all I had some great readings and met some lovely people
• Thank you everyone for an amazing afternoon
• Lovely to be a part of this
• I really enjoyed being a part such a great new healing and positive venture
This is a new venture for Hastings Voluntary Action and this first event has given us lots to think about and learn from and the young people who attended had the following to say:
• I learnt to be open
• Trust myself and not stress out over big decisions
• Being chilled and to open up to others
• To stay calm
• To take care of my mental self
• To regularly ground myself
• Self-care
• I learned to take support sometimes and not always give to others
Everyone who attended said they would like more events like this and regular events / activities.
Going forward the project will be offering some regular opportunities for young people to try out different complementary practices and learn new ways to look after their health and wellbeing.
Sarita and Jacy from Hastings Voluntary Action said:
‘We are aiming to reach young people who may not have had the opportunity to try these types of activities before and those that did come along really appreciated the opportunity to have a go and went away feeling more relaxed and definitely wanted to attend more events like this'.
