Integrated Community Teams (ICTs) – Feedback from the Hastings Briefing

HVA were pleased to work with the East Sussex Health & Social Care Transformation team to offer a briefing about proposals for an  Integrated Community Team (ICT) for Hastings bringing together health, local authority partners and community organisations into a ‘team of teams’ to;

1. make it easier for people who don’t use services often to get care and advice

2. provide proactive, personalised and multi-disciplinary care for people with more complex needs

3. help people to stay well for longer, through a joined-up approach to prevention

A range of different participants from those with lived experience, local community organisations and established VCSE service providers took part in a lively discussion which looked at the role of the ICTs and how to align this with other work going on in Hastings and in the VCSE.

Speaking after the briefing ICT Programme Manager Josh Broadway said:

“I was really impressed with the range of topics coming out of our conversation. The insight and experiences people shared will be hugely valuable as we develop Integrated Community Teams in Hastings and across East Sussex.  We’re committed to ensuring we continue the conversation with local people and communities and this briefing was a great first step in capturing the diverse views and perspectives across Hastings.”

HVA will be using our e-bulletin to keep local groups up to date as the ICTs develops and working with the project team to offer another briefing opportunity in the near future. If you would like to know more about this area of work further information is available via the following link:-
