Hastings Voluntary Action, in conjunction with the Hastings Community Network have been advocating for funding from the Foreshore Trust to be extended for key local organisations that help some of the most vulnerable people in Hastings, including Citizens Advice 1066, HARC, Hastings Voluntary Action, the Links Project, Seaview and Brighton Housing Trust.
Speaking after the Foreshore Trust Charity Committee papers were published including a recommendation to extend the current programme whilst longer term commissioning is put in place, HVA Director Steve Manwaring said:-
“We welcome this recommendation as it will offer some certainty to local charities and allow much needed services to be funded for a further 6 month period. It will also allow the Foreshore Trust Charity Committee the time to agree and consult on its future plans knowing that services which are crucial to local people are continuing whilst this takes place."
