Alcohol Support Worker

East Sussex Recovery Alliance is a recovery project working with those in recovery from substance misuse, and their families.   We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting those on their recovery journey.

We are looking for someone with lived experience, to work in our Hastings hub. You will provide Recovery support for clients with alcohol addiction, working closely with local hospital detox wards and other recovery partners . You will have a good understanding of the local community to enable signposting, and have a good sound knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and boundaries. You must be a team player. Full training will be provided.

Salary: NJC scale 4 (9) pro rata £10,569.73. Fixed term contract until 31st March 2022

Working alongside the Senior support worker with any clients who have alcohol dependency.

Building a relationship with the local hospital and detox wards.

Keeping regularly contact with clients by phone, email, text or virtually.

Ensure your actions to support individuals who have used substances are consistent with your agreed role and ESRA’s policies and procedures.

Ensure your actions to support clients are appropriate to the substances used, the effect that the substance has had and the condition of the client.

Offer support to clients in a manner that respects their individual rights and choice, and is appropriate to their needs and is realistic within the limits of the resources available.

Follow the induction process with the support of the senior support worker.

Work towards ensuring clients are encouraged to independence and signpost clients to other services/activities as appropriate.

You must at least 18 months into your Recovery journey. This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.
