Complex Needs and Housing Officer

BWC is delighted to be recruiting a Complex Needs and Housing Officer to support us in our work, providing holistic services to women and girls with multiple and complex needs across Kent.

For 47 years BWC has been supporting women across Sussex through our Women’s Centre in Brighton and Hove and through our community Women’s Hubs across the county. With this role we are looking to expand the same holistic support service model into Kent.

If you want to play a key role in a women-centered support service that advocates for systems change, then we want to hear from you!

Job Summary:

As a Complex Needs and Housing Keyworker, your role will be to provide in-reach and ‘Through the Gate’ support to women involved in the Criminal Justice System; either those on Probation in the Community or being released from Prison and working with you as part of their Post Sentence Supervision.

You will manage a caseload of women all with complex needs, providing them with personalised, practical and emotional support that encompasses a range of accommodation, financial, health, social and relationship needs. In line with BWC values, you will take a trauma responsive, strengths based approach, providing holistic support in collaboration with each woman and advocating on the key issues around housing and homelessness that impact women affected by the Criminal Justice System. The overall aim of the role is to empower the women you work with to move forward with their lives and challenge the stigma associated with women affected by the Criminal Justice System.

You will be working as part of a team of Keyworkers in your region, working one-to-one with women across individual communities. You will be co-located with partner organisations in your region but will be expected to travel for any organisational meetings and training, as and when required.
