Within this role you will be delivering our strategic community grants programme, engagement activities and outreach events in line with our overall community strategy. You will deliver programmes which build better relationships with our communities where our activities may have impacted. Our purpose puts the wellbeing of our customers, the protection and improvement of our environment and the health of our communities at the heart of everything we do.

The Community and Education team that this role sits with form part of the wider Corporate Affairs team at Southern Water. Advocating and supporting the needs and views of our communities within the organisation is our passion. You will support the co -creation, co-ordination, and delivery of strategic grant-giving programmes– including community relationships, partnerships, steering groups, insight panels, communications and impact reporting and supporting outreach activity and engagements with events such as adult talks, community engagements and networking.

A head for numbers and data is important in this role as you will need to maintain accurate reporting into the community budget tracker and manage payments as well as collect, monitor and report impact and performance data to the Community Partnerships Manager.

To be considered for this role you will need to have a UK driving licence and own car as there will be frequent travel to sites and community events. You will ideally have experience within a stakeholder engagement position within the charity, fundraising or grant environment. There will also be some need for weekend and evening work where necessary so the ability to be flexible is a must.

You will be able to influence others and act as a natural ambassador to engage internally and externally with strategic community programmes and seek out collaboration and advocacy and be empathetic and understanding in your approach to challenges faced by communities.
